Welcome to my website! I am studio artist Megan Downing. Founder and head artist of MINKED. My mission is to not just make a career as an artist, but give that opportunity to others. I have known since the age of 5 that I wanted art to be my career. I have seen art change lives; I truly believe it can change the world around us. In the small town of Washington Court House I have a studio in Dell White's 'White Fence Gallery'. There I create commissioned work as well as my own. I teach painting classes and am always looking to grow in my practices! 

Art is an umbrella that covers an endless list of practices and mediums. I strive to show people how to find their own practice(s) that help them feel at peace. My overall idea of art is that it is an act of meditation we use to keep our minds moving, helping to unravel puzzles in our brains.

 Each new commission I take on comes with obstacles to figure out and overcome. As a mixed media, studio artist, I have never found a "school of art" I have wished to fall under. With a background in ceramics, painting, glasswork, welding, woodworking, and so on, I find joy in learning and conquering all mediums. Painting has paid off the most for me, but I'm always ready to bring any idea/creation to life! I see myself as a craftsman with my art.
